"Carandiru"

I really liked this movie. It was well-made, and the story was well-told. It is so sad, though, that this actually happened.

It is a story about how some 300 policemen killed 111 UNARMED inmates of a correctional facility in Brazil in 1992.

"Clueless"

I hadn't seen this movie for a LONG time, but it was just on tv, so I watched it to help pass the time. I couldn't believe the language and the clothes they used throughout the entire movie. I guess it was meant to be that way though. I kind of needed a movie where the girl ended up with the cute guy. :)

"Barb Wire"

My friend decided to rent this movie one night, due to curiosity. She wondered how bad the movie could be with Pamela Anderson in it. We almost watched it at my house, but my grandpa was working in the basement at the time and it would have been difficult to pay attention to the movie. So we watched it at her house. THANK GOD, because my grandpa hates nudity and the first 10 minutes of this movie is nothing but a wet Pamela dancing with her boobs hanging out. (no joke!)
My friend and I lost track of the plot about 45 minutes into the movie, but it didn't stop us from having a few good laughs. Pamela's character is an ass-kickin action hero that's hotter than a blacktop on a summer day... *ahem* she may be hot, but she's no actress. There's even some semi-bad guy that is so fat that he needs to be carried around in a bucket of a bulldozer and he lives in a junk yard. ha ha... great movie.

"The Railway Children"

I picked this one out at the library just after they announced that there would be a fire drill in a few minutes. I just grabbed the first movie I saw. It seemed a random choice at first, but after a couple minutes I realized that I must have read the book.

The story is a little slow, but it was a nice one.

"Here on Earth"

This movie was on right after Two Weeks Notice. I started watching it, but drifted away from the tv as I found things to do around the house.

Anyway, Chris Klein is a rich kid and Leelee Sobieski is a not-so-rich kid that's got a not-so-rich boyfriend. The rich kid and the not-so-rich boyfriend get into this car race, fighting over the girl, and they end up crashing into her family's restaurant and gas station and burning it down. Their sentence is to rebuild the place over the summer and the rich kid has to live over the not-so-rich kid's garage. As far into the movie as I saw, the rich kid seemed to be winning the girl's heart. I still don't know how it ends... anyone seen it that can tell me?

"Two Weeks Notice"

I saw this movie for the first time in New York at my cousin's house; that was a few years ago. It was on tv the other night, so my sister and I passed the time watching it.

It seems like a hookie set up to me, how she gets the job working for the rich snob, how she wants to quit, and how they end up like they do. *shrug* But it's still a cute story. I like how in the beginning she's ordering a crapload of Chinese food just for herself, and at the end it's for two.

Gotta love Sandra Bullock.
