Well... The story is about a girl that has to move to Cuba with her
family in the 1950s for her last year of high school. Her parents used
to be dancers, so she obviously had learned quite a bit from them, but
it was the lame, structured stuff. So she meets this native Cuban that
teaches her how to dance like the Cubanos... You can guess that they
have a romance, etc., etc.. I won't get into the whole thing.
The
only MAJOR problem I had with this movie was the ACTING. I mean, the
girl was pretty, the guy was cute, they danced ok.. but the acting was
terrible. The main character had the same tone of voice for every situation or mood she was in.
I also think that there could have been a LOT more dancing.
Oh
yeah, who could forget, Patrick Swayze was in the movie too. He kind of
had a random role.. I didn't understand. It seemed kind of like they
had run out of ideas for where to place him in the cast and put him
where they did for lack of creativity. Either it was the placing of his
role or the way his character was written out. I couldn't tell.. but I
knew something was off.
