"Moulin Rouge"

This movie is the third of a series by the same director. The first was Strictly Ballroom and the second was Romeo and Juliet (with Leo DiCaprio). Strictly Ballroom was a story told mostly through dance, Romeo and Juliet was a story told through poetry and words, and Moulin Rouge is a story told through song.

The songs used in the film are fairly well-known, from many genres and many eras. The lyrics are mixed together so they help tell the story of Cristian and Satine..

In case you didn't get it yet, this movie is a musical. I would suggest you watch the movie even if you have a grudge against musicals because it may change they way you feel about them. There are some cheesy parts, there are some sad parts, there are some happy parts.
This is the movie that made me fall in love with Ewan McGregor and Nicole Kidman as actors. They are amazing in this movie. They both sing with their own voices, which makes the movie even better - because you know they're not fakes.
I think my favorite part in the movie is when the Duke says "..the Maharajah.." and moves his hand in a circle. hehehe.. What a character.
